For a musical originally set in 1933, this winter's Annie remake is shaping up to be very 2014. For the present-day update, set to be released this December, the movie updated Daddy Warbucks' name to Will Stacks (but for some reason, not Bill Stacks). And now, the classic tune "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" has lyrics that reference Gucci and Chanel, thanks to Sia.
The "Chandelier" singer had a big hand in updating the movie's soundtrack, and appears in two other songs, one featuring Beck. The soundtrack comes out November 17, and the movie hits theaters December 19.
In a music video to promote the movie, star Quvenzhané Wallis and her costars (who play foster kids, not residents of an orphanage) hand out lemonades and smiley faces, dance with umbrellas, and generally spread cheer across New York City. And not even the most hardcore Annie purist can get mad about that.
