Yesterday, I promised that I would do a Part II for this week’s Star Magazine story. Star claims that LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are “broke”… and now that I’ve read the story, I kind of believe them. It’s not like Star has mountains of evidence or anything, but Star is just saying a lot of stuff that we’ve already been saying for months: that LeAnn and Eddie are spending cash like it’s going out of style and that they don’t have anything coming in. Here are some highlights from the cover story:
*LeAnn hasn’t had a hit album since 2007, ‘Spitfire’ has bombed and her contract with Curb Records is dead. LeAnn has yet to sign on with any new record company.
*An industry source says: “Record execs are looking for the next big thing and LeAnn is basically on the casino-gig circuit, while her contemporaries, like Carrie Underwood, are selling out the Staples Center in LA. No one is interested in reviving someone’s career.”
*Where did LeAnn’s fortune go? “They spend money as fast as she makes it… there’s no end to Eddie’s lust for expensive cars, motorcycles, boats, watches and trips.” LeAnn sold her Nashville home at a loss and bought a mansion in Hidden Hills with HOA fees “high enough to decimate the average bank account.”
*LeAnn has also been blowing money on plastic surgery: “She wanted a six-pack, so she got abdominal implants. She thinks it will help her career – but she really does it to keep Eddie interested. She’s had her eyelids done, her lips plumped and her breasts done too. And she gets fillers and Botox.”
*LeAnn is worried that if she doesn’t bring in more money, Eddie will dump her and pick up with a new sugar mama. That’s also why she hasn’t gotten pregnant: sources say she’s worried about putting her career on hold because she’s the breadwinner AND she’s worried that Eddie will cheat on her while she’s pregnant, which is what happened with Brandi.
*Eddie’s pretty broke too. “Eddie isn’t pulling his weight financially. His small parts in Tyler Perry films and low-budget TV movies provide decent income, but that’s not nearly enough for them to continue living the high life.”
*Eddie asked Brandi Glanville for financial help: “He asked Brandi for child support… he has no money of his own, LeAnn was paying his portion of child support.” Star notes that Brandi confirmed this, but Eddie denied it.
*The VH1 reality show is making Eddie “miserable.” A friend says: “He is an intensely private, even sneaky type of guy. The last thing he wants is cameras following him around 24/7. But LeAnn laid down the law: they need the money.”
*VH1 paid for their vacations in Hawaii and the Bahamas but insiders don’t believe that the series will be anything noteworthy because “nine months of filming has elicited just three hours of usably footage.” And the show was supposed to debut in early 2013, but it still doesn’t have a premiere date?
*LeAnn is so desperate for other revenue streams that she’s considering doing an exercise DVD. “She’s exhausting every possibility she has to make a buck. The only scheme I haven’t heard her mention yet is an autobiography – but I guess Brandi already did that!”
*LeAnn has been scrambling to cut costs for the first time in her adult life – she’s been wearing the same old clothes she’s been seen in many times before.
*The Cibrian children are enrolled in public school too. And LeAnn is thinking about cutting off her mother and stepfather, as well as Eddie’s parents too, who are apparently getting money from the Bank of Rimes.
*Every time LeAnn tries to talk to Eddie about money, he blows her off and then disappears. A source says, “He’s been disappearing a lot lately and is very vague about his whereabouts. He will come home at midnight and blow off her questions about where he was. LeAnn is freaking out. Eddie has put up a wall and she feels shut out.”
*But… “the truth is that Eddie is tired of her theatrics and he won’t put up with them for much longer – especially if she doesn’t have money. He already has one foot out the door.”

I told you… this is really good dirt. I didn’t even realize that the reality show debut was wonky – it was supposed to premiere this month, but I guess they didn’t want to air 30 minutes of LeAnn sitting on her phone tweeting while Eddie lurks around, trying to figure when he can get away with a mistress. I think it’s for sure now that Eddie has a constant mistress – while I’m sure he bangs everything that moves, it also feels like he’s preparing his exit too, and that he’s got a “constant” on the side.
Also: did LeAnn really get her eyelids done?!?!
